LEBANON, Ind. — The Carthage men's golf team finished with a second place tie after their first 17 holes in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Invitational which was held at the Trophy Club in Lebanon, Indiana. The Firebirds are the last remaining team to finish the first round, and will complete their 18th hole tomorrow morning before they move onto the second portion of the invitational. They ended today tied for second with a current total of 284 (+12), but their score and position are subject to change as they wrap up round one tomorrow.

Kevin Healy led the way for Carthage with his second place tie (currently) and score of 67 (-1) after 17 holes. Alex Green and Austin Young both ended with a 15th place tie after shooting 72 (+4) for the evening. Zachary Shawhan placed 20th and shot 73 (+5), while Tyler Muschewske finished 23rd with a total of 74 (+6).

Rose-Hulman holds first place among the 14 teams in attendance with a score of 297 (+9). Transylvania is alongside Carthage in second with a total of 300 (+12). The 18th hole, which will decide the Firebird's final score and position tomorrow morning, is a par four.
