OXFORD, Ohio — Carthage men's golf finished the Mount St. Joseph University Invitational with a tie for fourth place among twelve teams. The Firebirds shot 300 (+12) on Saturday to put them in fourth place, and 301 (+13) on Sunday for a grand total of 601 (+25). Ohio Dominican placed first out of the twelve teams, while Franklin College joined Carthage in fourth after shooting 601 (+25) also.

Zach Shawhan ended the invitational in a tenth place tie with fellow teammate Tyler Muschewske. Shawhan shot 71 (-1) on the first day and 76 (+4) on the second, with a total score of 147 (+3). Muschewske ended round one 74 (+2), and tallied 73 (+1) for the second day of play to match Shawhan's total of 147 (+3). Kevin Healy finished with a total of 152 (+8), while Alex Green and Keegan Oberding ended with scores of 156 (+12) and 163 (+19) respectively.

Head Coach Brandy Johnston:

"I think it's fair to say that we're all a little disappointed with our finish this weekend. While we did a better job taking advantage of scoring opportunities on the front nine today as compared to yesterday, we struggled down the stretch. On the plus-side, we saw a lot of improvement in our short games from last week to this week which was reflected in our lower scores."

The Firebirds travel to Lebanon, Indiana next Saturday to compete in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Invitational which will be held at The Trophy Club.
