DECATUR, ILL. — Carthage men's golf finished day one of the Millikin Big Blue Spring Opener in third place with a score of 304 (+20) at the South Side Country Club in Decatur, Illinois.

The firebirds were nine strokes behind first place Webster, who capped day one off with a score of 295. Millikin finished second with a score of 296.

After sinking a hole-in-one on the tenth hole, Zachary Shawhan would finish the day with a third place tie among individual scorers with 72 (+1). Tyler Muschewske ended with a seventh place tie after shooting 74 (+3). Kevin Healy and Keegan Oberding both finished 79 (+8), while Alex Green would shoot 84 (+13) for the day.

Carthage is back on the course tomorrow for day two of the Millikin Big Blue Spring Opener.
