Men’s Swimming and Diving Beats Millikin in Virtual Meet

KENOSHA, Wis. — The Carthage College men's swimming and diving teams held their second virtual meet of the season beating Millikin 170-22 on Saturday.

The men's swim and dive team collected 10 first-place finishes on the day as Mitchell Mages won two individual races. Mages won the 100-yard fly and 100-yard breaststroke along with being a swimmer in the 200-yard medley relay with Nick NevinsChristian Snyder, and Mitchel Steinke

Senior Ethan Hare collected a first-place time of 1:49.57 in the 200-yard freestyle and 55.43 in the 100-yard backstroke while Nevins won the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle. Nevins swam in the 200-yard freestyle relay with Mitchell MagesAdam Moskus and Mitchel Steinke that won the event. Freshman Austin Johnson won the 200-yard individual medley on the day with a time of 2:09.08 while Jack Piccoli won in the 500-yard freestyle with a finish time of 5:14.94. 

In diving events, Manny Contreras won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions. 

The men's swim and dive team return to the pool on Saturday, February 27 starting at 11 p.m.

"The guys were able to create a fun atmosphere and buzz at our home pool, which led to some inspiring swims and great races. Things are shaping up to close out our season in an exciting way in a couple of weeks."
