AURORA, Ill.  — The Carthage College men's wrestling team fell to Aurora 31-16 on Wednesday night at Thornton Gymnasium.

After Aurora took the first two matches, Cole Nelson got the Firebirds on the board with a major decision win 12-4 at 141 pounds. Collin Ruiz won by decision 3-0 at 157 pounds, while at 165 pounds, Kobe Gilbert picked up a technical fall win 17-0. After the Spartans took the next two, Alex Hoffman won by major decision 9-0 at 184 pounds but Aurora won the last two for the victory. 

Carthage returns to the mat on Saturday, November 20, as the Firebirds compete in the Concordia (Wis.) Open starting at 9 a.m.
