FOND DU LAC, Wis. — The Carthage women's bowling team competed in their first Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Quad to start the season on Saturday. 

In the traditional five-person team matches, Carthage fell to Aurora 819-723. Carthage lost to the Spartans in baker play 608-587. 

Carthage took on Marian (Wis.) in traditional play for the second match of the day. The Sabres won the match 1017-691. In baker play, Marian won 744-581. 

For Carthage, freshman Cassie Hyland had the high average for the team on the day averaging a 176.

Carthage returns to the lanes on Saturday, January 30 hosting the second CCIW Quad.
