Clermont, Fla. — The No. 14 Carthage College softball team wrapped up their spring trip in Florida splitting day five with a 3-2 victory over Defiance before coming up short against Rhodes 2-1 on Friday at Legends Way Park.
The Lady Reds (10-2) got on the board first in the third inning with an RBI single from Naomi Alonzo which scored
Donna Stevens. The Yellow Jackets (5-8) responded with runs in the fifth and ninth to control the game 2-1. Alonzo hit an RBI double to tie the game at two in the bottom half inning before
Taylor Zielinski hit a walk-off RBI double to give Carthage the win 3-2.
In the final game of the spring trip, the Lynx (12-9) took the lead in the third to go up 2-0. Although Madison Ganir scored on a fielding error, Rhodes took the victory 2-1.
