LEBANON, ILL.—Non-conference play was upon the Carthage College water polo team, who squared-off against Mercyhurst University in their lone game on day one of the McKendree University Invitational at the McKendree University Metro Rec Plex in Lebanon, Illinois on Saturday. The Lady Reds dropped a 10-3 decision to the Lakers, which kncoks their record to 2-11, 2-6 CWPA. Mercyhurst improves to 6-14, 0-1 WWPA with the win.Â

Arianna Dakuras notched a pair of goals for the Lady Reds offense, while
Maddi Marsh followed with one. The defensive side of the pool was all
Sophie Flott and
Kayli Sayatovic, who each tallied a steal for Carthage. Lady Reds goalie
Emma Jeronimus came through with 12 saves and one steal in the losing effort.

The Lady Reds will return to action on day two of the McKendree Invitaitonal on Sunday, April 7, where they'll face Salem University (12:30 p.m.) and McKendree University (3:45 p.m.)
