CWPA RELEASE
NEW LONDON, CONN.—The Carthage College women's water polo team squared-off against first-year program Austin College on day two of the 2019 Collegiate Water Polo Association Division III Championship, hosted by Connecticut College at the Lott Natatorium in New London, Connecticut on Saturday. With a berth to the 2019 CWPA Championship Game on the line, the Lady Reds couldn't get over the edge in a 7-2 loss to the Roos.
The loss drops Carthage's record to 4-14 while Austin College advances to the CWPA Championship Game with an 8-8 record, where they'll take on Macalester College tomorrow, Sunday, April 14. The Lady Reds will compete in the CWPA Third Place Game against Monmouth College tomorrow, Sunday, April 14 at 12:00 p.m. (ET).

Morgan Fingerson each tallied a goal for the Lady Reds, while goalie
Emma Jeronimus notched 10 saves in the complete-game effort. Austin's Lexi Wong netted a hat trick, followed by Presley Woods' two goals. Roos goalie Valery Piachonkina came through with eight saves in the winning-effort.
