ST. PAUL, MINN.—The back-end of the CWPA West Region Tournament II pitted the Carthage College women's water polo team against first-year program Austin College, and Monmouth College at Macalester College's Riley Pool in St. Paul, Minnesota on Sunday. The Lady Reds came up on the wrong end of an 8-7 heartbreaker against Austin before they finished the day with a 13-5 loss to Monmouth.
Carthage exits Sunday with a 2-10, 2-6 CWPA record.

Carthage jumped to a 2-1 lead after the first quarter, and led as much as 4-2 in the second frame before Austin went into halftime with a 5-4 edge. The Roos maintained the one-goal edge with an 8-7 win over the Lady Reds.
Meghan Fisher notched a hat trick for the Lady Reds, while teammate
Arianna Dakuras followed with a two-goal effort.
Sophie Flott and
Morgan Fingerson each tallied a goal for the Carthage offense. Goalie
Emma Jeronimus came through with a nine-save effort for the Lady Reds in the one-goal loss.

Maddi Marsh posted a team-high four goals for the Lady Reds, but it was Monmouth's Becca Dabrowski who highlighted the game with five goals.
Heather Walker, fresh off an NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving National Meet, tallied the other goal for Carthage.
Emma Jeronimus posted 22 saves in net for the Lady Reds.
Carthage will return to the pool on Saturday, April 6 – Sunday, April 7 at the McKendree University Invitational.
