ST. PAUL, MINN.— The Riley Pool/Leonard Natatorium in St. Paul, Minnesota awaited the Carthage College women's water polo team for the opening two games of the Macalester College Invitational on Saturday. The Lady Reds began their 2019 campaign with a 22-1 loss to NCAA Division I member Virginia Military Institute before they came up short 13-2 against University of Redlands in the back-end of Saturday.
The losses drop Carthage's record to 0-2. VMI improves to 5-2 while Redlands ups their record to 2-6.

Maddi Marsh tallied Carthage's lone goal in the contest, and torched the Keydets for nine shots. Freshman
Meghan Fisher notched four shots for the Lady Reds while
Sophie Flott followed with three.

Emma Jeronimus stopped eight shots for the Lady Reds.
Redlands 13, Lady Reds 2
Marsh continued her strong opening day for the Lady Reds with a goal and four shots. Sophomore
Arianna Dakuras notched her first goal of the season and registered five shots in the contest. Junior
Morgan Fingerson paced Carthage with seven of her team's 28 shots in the contest.
Emma Jeronimus came through with 14 saves in net for the Lady Reds.
Carthage will return to action in the back-end of the Macalester College Invitational in St. Paul, Minnesota on Sunday, February 24, where they'll face Monmouth College (10:00 a.m.) and University of Redlands (3:00 p.m.).
