LAVEEN VILLAGE, ARIZ.—The Carthage College women's golf team opened their 2017-18 spring schedule with a match-play dual against Wheaton College at the Aguila Golf Club in Laveen Village, Ariz. on Tuesday. The Lady Reds executed a 5-0 sweep over the Thunder, led by
Sarah Lyman's 78 (+6).

As a team, Carthage finished with a 424 while Wheaton completed the round with a 455.

Carlee Dawson and
Erin Walz entrenched their names in the #2 spot on the leaderboard with an 85 (+13). Kylie Monson, the first Wheaton player on the leaderboard, trailed Walz and Dawson by one stroke with an 86 (+14).
Sarah Schuster carded an 87 (+15), while
Alison Meeker's 89 (+17) rounded out the Carthage five-golfer lineup. The bottom four spots on the leaderboard were occupied by Wheaton individuals. Â

The Lady Reds will return to competition at the Illinois College Spring Classic on Saturday, March 24 – Sunday, March 25 at the Jacksonville Links Golf Course.
