Red Men Conclude Indoor Season With 5-4 Loss To La Crosse

3/24/2018 7:58:00 PM

MADISON, Wis. – The Carthage College Red Men concluded their 2018 indoor season on Saturday with a tough loss, falling to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, 5-4.

The loss drops the men's tennis program to 5-8 on the year, while the Eagles move to 12-4.

Herman Abban had the strongest day of any Red Men, going a perfect 2-0 on the day.  Abban opened his day along side of Daniel Moore, as Carthage's number one doubles pair topped Kyle Wogahn and Matt Lindsay [8-6].  Abban followed that up with another win over Wogahn in the number one single match [6-2, 7-6 (7-4)].

Unfortunately for the Red Men, the doubles one win would be their only pairs win on the day.  Carthage did manage to split the singles competition however, as John Nykyforuk and Matt Krzewinski each earned win.  Nykyforuk topped Matt Lindsay in the four singles match [6-3, 7-5] and Krzewinski defeated Andre Antreassian in number five single [6-4, 4-6 (11-9)].
