WASHINGTON, PA.—The Carthage College water polo team faced Penn State Behrend on the final day of the CWPA League Tournament II on Sunday at the Henry Memorial Natatorium, located on the campus of Washington & Jefferson College. The Lady Reds closed the three-day event with a 14-8 win over Penn State Behrend, which gave them a 4-1 record on the weekend.

The Lady Reds entered the match second on the April 5Â CWPA Division III Top 5 Poll with 93 points while Penn State Behrend received 17 points on the poll.

The victory gives Carthage a 13-4, 11-3 CWPA record while the Lions fall to 4-19, 3-11 CWPA.

Carthage registered a 3-0 first-quarter advantage, and a 5-2 halftime lead. Penn State Behrend responded with four third-quarter goals, but it wasn't enough as Carthage held onto a 14-8 victory.Â
It was another day at the office for
Maggie Hennigan, who tallied six goals in the contest.
Carly Strass added four goals while
Jessica Graziano notched three to round out the Lady Reds with multiple goals.
Mack Ryan contributed one goal to the Carthage offense.

The Lady Reds will participate in the 2017 CWPA Division III Championship on Saturday, April 22 - Sunday, April 23Â at the Riley Pool/Leonard Natatorium on the campus of Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn.Â
