KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carthage College men's tennis team fell on Friday at Smeds Tennis Center in a regional match with the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, 6-3.

The loss drops Carthage to 7-9 in dual matches this year, while the win sends the Bluegolds to 13-5 overall.

Herman Abban and
Pawel Jaworski earned the only wins on the day for Carthage as each won their respective singles match and they teamed up to win their doubles match.

As a duo, the two opened the day with a win in the number-one doubles match as the nationally ranked #12 combo topped Michaeel Mauthe and Renan Barros [8-5].

Abban followed that up with a win in the number-one singles match against Mauthe [6-1, 7-6], and P. Jaworski also won in straight sets over Daniel Schoen [7-5, 6-4].

The Red Men will look to bounce back on Sunday with a pair of road CCIW matches. Carthage will open the day at Millikin University at 9:30 a.m. and follow that up with a stop on their way back to Kenosha in Bloomington for a match at Illinois Wesleyan at 3:00 p.m.
