ST. PAUL, MINN.—The Carthage College water polo team faced Connecticut College in the Collegiate Water Polo Association Division III Third Place Game on Sunday morning. The Lady Reds swept their season-series with Connecticut College with a 9-5 victory to claim third place in the CWPA Division III Tournament.

This marks the fourth-consecutive season Carthage secured third place at the CWPA Division III Championship.

The Lady Reds end their 2017 season with a 15-5, 11-3 CWPA record while the Camels conclude their campaign with a 9-16, 7-7 CWPA mark.

Jane Eckles paced the Carthage offense with a hat trick while
Maggie Hennigan and
Allie Boothe each contributed two goals. Goalkeeper
Emma Jeronimus, who pulled down player of the game honors for the second time in the tournament on Sunday, registered 13 saves for the Lady Reds.
Carly Strass (First Team) and
Maggie Hennigan (Second Team) were named to the 2017 CWPAÂ Division III All-Tournament Team following Sunday's events.Â
