ST. PAUL, MINN.—The Carthage College water polo team participated in the Collegiate Water Polo Association Division III Tournament at the Macalester College Riley Pool/Leonard Natatorium on Saturday. The #3 Lady Reds faced #6 Penn State Behrend in the CWPA Division III Quarterfinals. Carthage defeated the Lions 10-5 in the quarterfinals before their semfinal matchup with host Macalester College. The Lady Reds couldn't generate offense in a 10-2 semifinal loss to the Scots. 
 
The Lady Reds will now face #4 Connecticut College in the CWPA Division III Tournament Third Place Game tomorrow, Sunday, April 23 at 11:40 a.m.
 
Carthage exits Saturday with a 14-5, 11-3 CWPA record.
 
Lady Reds 10, Penn State Behrend 5
 
Maggie Hennigan registered a hat trick for the Lady Reds' offense while Carly Strass, Jane Eckles and Allie Boothe each contributed two.  Strass also commanded the Lady Reds' defense with seven steals in the contest. Hennigan also contributed a pair of steals to Carthage's defense.
 
Emma Jeronimus, who tallied 11 saves in the contest, earned player of the game accolades.
 
Macalester 10, Lady Reds 2
 
The Lady Reds, who defeated Macalester 10-6 on March 25, couldn't make it two in a row as they fell to the Scots 10-2. 
 
Allie Boothe paced Carthage on both ends of the pool with one goal and two steals. Hennigan and Strass also contributed a pair of steals to the Carthage defense.
 
The Lady Reds will end their season in the CWPA Division III Tournament Third Place Game against Connecticut College tomorrow, Sunday, April 23 at 11:40 a.m.
