MONMOUTH, ILL.—The Carthage College water polo squad played a pair of games in the opening day of the Monmouth College Tournament on Saturday evening. The Lady Reds registered an 11-3 win over Monmouth College, followed by a 17-8 victory over Lindenwood College to push their win streak to three games.

Jane Eckles and
Carly Strass each notched a hat trick to lead the Carthage offense.
Â
Strass was also a force on the defensive end of the pool with a pair of steals in the game.
Maggie Hennigan also demonstrated dominance on both ends of the pool with two steals and two assists.

Emma Jeronimus tallied 16 saves and two steals in the complete-game victory for the Lady Reds.

As a team, Carthage converted on six-of-seven chances with an extra player.

Eckles and Hennigan each registered four goals to almost account for half of Carthage's scoring in the game.
Allie Boothe added a hat trick to Carthage's offense.

Madi Anderson contributed one goal and five assists while
Laura Larsen added four helpers. Jeronimus got the goaltending start in game two, where she collected 11 saves and a pair of steals.

The Lady Reds will compete in day two of the Monmouth College Tournament tomorrow, March 5. Carthage will face Monmouth College at 8:00 a.m., and Macalester College at 10:00 a.m.  Â
