Men's Swimming and Diving Goes 2-0 At Koenitzer On Wednesday

KENOSHA, Wis. – The #22 Red Men remained unbeaten on the young season Wednesday night, as the Carthage College men's swimming and diving team defeated a pair of CCIW foes handedly, topping Carroll University, 158-35, and North Central, 158-32, at Koenitzer Aquatic Center.
 
Like the Lady Reds, the Red Men opened and closed the night with wins in both relay events, taking the 200-medley relay [1:37.01] and 200 free relay [1:35.47].
 
Seven different swimmers took first in their respective events on the night as well, with the Red Men highlighting the 200 free with the top-six finishes and Nicholas Nevins taking first [1:49.46].  The Red Men had another strong showing in the 100 backstroke, as Mitchell Mages [54.79] took first of five straight Carthage swimmers in the event.
 
Also taking first on the night was Nicholas Wolff in the 50 free [23.47], Nick Seroni in the 200 individual medley [2:00.04], Cooper Hawkins in the 100 butterfly [53.33], Mitch Scarski in the 100 free [49.10] and finally Jack Wallar in the 500 free [5:03.05].
 
Carthage will look to stay perfect in head-to-head matchups this weekend as the Red Men travel to Bloomington, Illinois to face Illinois Wesleyan University and the Illinois Institute of Technology on Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
