KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carthage College men's tennis team (16-6, 4-0 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) took to the courts at the Smeds Tennis Center for a pair of back-to-back CCIW matches.

The Red Men started the day with a noon match against the Thunder from Wheaton College (8-7, 1-1 CCIW). Carthage went 2-1 in doubles with
Pawel Jaworski and
Chris Conley taking the one doubles and
Lukasz Jaworski and
Fordy Leipold taking the number three doubles. Wheaton overtook the team of
Alex Boomgarden and
Ryan Jump in the number two doubles spot.

In the singles competitions, the Red Men found themselves with a total of four wins and only two losses. Winners for Carthage included
Ryan Jump in the number two spot,
Pawel Jaworski in the number three spot,
Lukasz Jaworski in the number five spot, and
Alex Ferruzzi in the number six spot.
Alex Boomgarden and
Chris Conley fell in the number one and number four spots, respectively. Â

With two doubles wins and four singles wins the Red Men found themselves on the victorious side of a 6-3 decision over the Thunder.

Later in the afternoon the Red Men returned to Smeds to face off against the Big Blue from Millikin University (13-4, 2-2 CCIW). Â In doubles play, Carthage found themselves with two wins and one loss.
Pawel Jaworski and
Chris Conley took the ones spot 8-3 and
Alex Boomgarden and
Ryan Jump came out on the winning side of an 8-4 decision in the twos spot. Unfortunately,
Lukasz Jaworski and
Fordy Leipold fell 8-4 to the Big Blue in the number three spot.

Ryan Jump took control for the Red Men in the singles competition with a 6-0. 6-0 win over Millikin in the number two spot. Other Carthage wins in singles matches included
Pawel Jaworski in the three spot,
Chris Conley in the four spot, Lukasz Jawroski in the five spot, and
Alex Ferruzzi in the six spot. Boomgarden was handed the lone loss for the Red Men in the number one spot. Carthage took the match 7-2 over the Big Blue.

Carthage returns to play on Thrusday, April 21 as they travel to Naperville, Ill. To take on the North Central College Cardinals at 3 p.m.
