HOLLAND, Mich. – The Carthage College men's tennis team improved to 5-0 in 2016 with a strong 8-1 win Friday at Hope College in Holland, Michigan.

The Red Men jumped out to a 3-0 lead with narrow wins in the doubles competition by
Pawel Jaworski and
Chris Conley [8-5],
Alex Boomgarden and
Ryan Jump [9-7], and
Lukasz Jaworski and
Fordy Leipold [8-6].

Carthage then dominated the singles competition, winning the singles one through five matches and only dropping the singles six match. Jump won in the most convincing fashion on the day for the Red Men  [6-1,  6-1], while Boomgarden [6-3, 6-3] and Conley [6-1, 6-3] also won in straight sets.

The Red Men return to the courts Saturday for two matches, beginning with Kalamazoo College at 9:00 AM, EST at Kalamazoo, before returning to Holland, Michigan for a neutral site match with Wabash College at 3:00 PM, EST.
