KENOSHA, Wis. – On Saturday, January 23
rd, the Carthage Red Men (4-3, 2-2 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) hosted Wheaton College (1-4, 1-0 CCIW) in a CCIW dual meet at Koenitzer Aquatic Center.

Carthage opened the meet with the 200 Medley Relay, and the Carthage relay of
Sam Gabriel,
Paul Devereux,
Lucas Linder and
Lee Hollman finished second to Wheaton with a time of 1:35.05.
Nathan Morris finished second to Wheaton's Will McCauley in the 1000 Free with a time of 10:22.85.

Carthage finished in the top five in the 200 Free with
Chris Russo in third (1:47.60),
James Hasbrouck in fourth (1:48.71) and
Nick Sall in fifth (1:49.13). The Red Men also found success in the 100 Back, which Hollman finished second (53.37), Gabriel in third (53.47) and
Mitch Scarski in fourth (53.93).
Chris Riordan finished second to Wheaton's Elliot Penson with a time of 58.91 in the 100 Breast. Linder finished second in the 200 Fly with a time of 2:01.68.
"It's always fun to race Wheaton in a dual meet format," said head coach
Seth Weidmann, "especially in years like this where they are the strongest dual meet team in the conference. We had some really great races and it will be exciting to match up against them in the championship meet format."

In the 50 Free,
James Weslaski finished in second (21.80) to Wheaton's Jack O'Connor (21.35), while Russo finished third with a time of 22.56. In addition, Russo finished second (48.31) to Wheaton's O'Connor (47.59) in the 100 Free, while Hollman finished third (48.40) and Hasbrouck fourth (49.28).

After multiple second place finishes on the day, Gabriel finished in the top spot (1:54.64) in the 200 Back. Scarski finished third in the event with a time of 1:56.80.

Riordan finished second to Wheaton's Penson for the second time in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:12.32. Morris came in third in the 500 Free with a time of 4:59.13. In the 100 fly, Linder finished second to Wheaton's Jacob Clement with a time of 52.88
Mitch Scarski finished in the top spot in the 200 IM with a time of 1:59.73.

Carthage closed the meet with the 200 Free Relay, which Carthage's A Relay of Weslaski, Hasbrouck, Russo and Hollman finished second with a time of 1:26.10.

On the diving boards,
Aaron San Juan finished first with a cumulative score of 169.43 points, while
Riley Busche finished second with a score of 167.48 points.

Carthage returns to action on January 30th for the Wisconsin Private College Championships beginning at noon at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center.
"We are looking to have some fun with the Wisconsin private meet and looking to swim really really fast as the CCIW championship meet. The entire focus of the next few weeks is to be ready for the CCIW championships," said Weidmann.Â
