The Carthage College women's water polo team (8-4, 8-4 Collegiate Water Polo Association) opens play at Collegiate Water Polo Association's Division III Tournament on Saturday, April 12 with a pool-play game against Utica College (3-9) at Macalester College's Riley Pool/Leonard Natatorium, beginning at 3:40 p.m.  

In the three other first-round contests, Connecticut College (11-1) plays Monmouth College (1-13), Macalester (6-7) takes on Grove City College (8-5), and Washington & Jefferson College (12-2) meets Penn State-Behrend (2-10). 

Carthage will play a second-round pool-play match on April 12 at either 6:20 p.m. or 7:40 p.m.  The tournament concludes on Sunday, April 13 with matches for seventh place (9 a.m.), fifth place (10:20 a.m.), third place (11:40 a.m.) and first place (1 p.m.).  The tournament champion advances to the CWPA National Championship at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa., on April 25-27.

On April 11, Carthage's Brittany Wallace Brittany Wallace (So., Niles, Ill./Wilmette-Loyola Academy) was named 2014 Collegiate Water Polo Association second-team all-conference.
