The Carthage College women's water polo team (9-5, 8-4 Collegiate Water Polo Association) went 1-1 in pool play on Saturday, April 12 at the Collegiate Water Polo Association's Division III Tournament on Saturday, April 12 at Macalester College's Riley Pool/Leonard Natatorium in St. Paul, Minn. Carthage defeated Utica College (3-10), 8-6, before losing to Washington & Jefferson College (14-2) by a 10-5 margin. The Lady Reds take on Macalester College (7-8) on Sunday, April 13 in a third-place match.
In the win over Utica,
Brittany Wallace (So., Niles, Ill./Wilmette-Loyola Academy) scored two goals with two assists. Wallace was named CWPA all-conference on Friday.
Tya Crosse (Jr., Corona, Calif./Rancho Cucamonga) and
Amanda Kuchan (Sr., Orland Park, Ill./Tinley Park-Andrew) also scored two goals each.
Jackie Knightly (Jr., Chicago, Ill./Mother McAuley) scored three goals in the loss to Washington & Jefferson, while
Ember McCoy (Sr., Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) picked up two assists.
