The Carthage College women's water polo team (8-4, 8-4 Collegiate Water Polo Association), tied for ninth place in the March 26 Collegiate Water Polo Association's NCAA Division III poll, went 3-4 at the Friday-Sunday, March 28-30 CWPA Tournament II at Washington & Jefferson College's Henry Memorial Natatorium in Washington, Pa.

The Lady Reds opened tournament play on Friday, March 28 by winning two-of-three matches Carthage defeated Macalester College, 9-5; to Connecticut College by a 14-3 margin; and edged Utica College, 11-10. In the in over Macalester,
Jackie Knightly (Jr., Chicago, Ill./Mother McAuley) and
Brittany Wallace (So., Niles, Ill./Wilmette-Loyola Academy) scored two goals each, with goalkeeper
Ashley McGhee (Jr., Chicago, Ill./Lane Tech) collecting 14 saves. In the Utica contest, Knightly scored three times, with
Megan Gillis (Jr., Jenison, Mich,) scoring twice.

On Saturday, March 29, the Lady Reds lost to No. 9 Washington & Jefferson, 7-6 before losing to Grove City College by a 12-7 margin. Knightly and Wallace scored two goals each in the loss to Washington & Jefferson, with McGhee collecting 18 saves. Knightly had three goals in the loss to Grove City. Carthage wrapped up tournament play on Sunday, March 30 by defeating Monmouth College, 12-6, and losing to Penn State-Behrend, 7-6. Knightly scored five goals in the win over Monmouth and
