The Carthage College men's swimming team (1-0) defeated Lake Forest College, 167-112, on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Carthage's Koenitzer Aquatic Center in Kenosha, Wis.
 
Carthage's Nick Sall (So., Zeeland, Mich./West) won three events, taking first place in the 200 backstroke (2:00.01), the 200 freestyle 1:47.23) and the 200 individual medley (1:59.85).  The Red Men picked up single wins from Cameron Small (Jr., Franksville, Wis./Racine-Case) in the 50 freestyle (22.22), Lee Hollman (So., Fort Atkinson, Wis.) in the 100 backstroke (53.44), Chris Riordan (So., Skokie, Ill./Niles-North) in the 100 breaststroke, James Hasbrouck (So., Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton-Warrenville South) in the 100 freestyle (48.73), and Teryn Solan (Sr., St. John, Ind./Lake Central) in the 1,000 freestyle (10:06.62) and Michael Modesti (Fr., Racine, Wis./Horlick) in one-meter diving (210.30).  Carthage also picked up a win form its 200 medley relay team of Hollman, Riordan, James Weslaski (So., Racine, Wis./Case) and Small with a time of 1:37.92.
 
Carthage travels to Bloomington, Ill., on Saturday, Nov. 8 to face both Illinois Wesleyan University and the Illinois Institute of Technology in a 1 p.m. triangular meet at Illinois Wesleyan's Fort Natatorium.
