Tournament Scoreboard
The Carthage College women's water polo team (4-8, 4-8 Collegiate Water Polo Association) went 2-4 at the Friday-Sunday, April 5-7 Collegiate Water Polo Association Tournament II at Carthage's Koenitzer Aquatic Center in Kenosha, Wis.
On Friday, April 5, the Lady Reds lost to Macalester College (4-11, 4-3 CWPA), 6-3, before defeating Penn State-Behrend (0-12, 0-8 CWPA) by a 20-2 margin. On Saturday, April 6, Carthage lost to No. 9 Grove City College (10-7, 8-1 CWPA), 9-2, and to No. 10 Washington & Jefferson College (8-15, 8-2 CWPA), 9-3. The Lady Reds concluded tournament play on Sunday, April 7 with an 11-2 win over Utica College (4-10, 2-9 CWPA) and a 15-5 loss to Connecticut College (12-6, 10-2 CWPA). Connecticut College won the tournament with a perfect 6-0 mark.
In the loss to Macalester on April 5,
Sammi Craig (So., Chicago Ridge, Ill./Oak Lawn-Richards),
Jordan Crocker (So., Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove) and
Hannah Duke (Jr., Schaumburg, Ill./Hoffman Estates-Conant) scored Carthage's three goals. Ashley McGee (So., Chicago, Ill./Lane Tech) collected 16 saves. In the April 5 win over Penn State-Behrend, Craig collected four goals and Colleen Koepke (Fr., Chicago, Ill./Resurrection) three, with Lisa Michalowski (Fr., Vernon Hills, Ill./Lincolnshire-Stevenson) getting 15 saves.
In the April 6 loss to Grove City, Ashley McGee had 13 saves, and in the April 6 loss to Washington & Jefferson, Michalowski collected a season-high 22 saves. In the April 7 win over Utica,
Hannah Duke scour four times, with Ashley McGee collecting 10 saves and two steals. In the loss to Connecticut College on April 7,
Hannah Duke scored twice, with Lisa Michalowski getting 15 saves.
