Austin Davidson (Fr., Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge) won the 100 butterfly (54.15), while finishing second in both the 100 backstroke (56.55) and the 200 backstroke (2:02.44).  Benjamin Ertl (So., Phillips, Wis.) won the 50 freestyle (22.09), and
Bryce Peters (Fr., Palos Heights, Ill./Oak Park-Fenwick) took first in the 200 individual medley (2:03.79).

Steven Mathe (Sr., Wauconda, Ill./Mundelein-Carmel Catholic) was second in both the 500 freestyle (5:03.47) and the 1,000 freestyle (10:36.75).
Tyler Smith (Sr., Farmington, Minn.) was second in the 100 butterfly (54.21), as was
Tom Hubbard (Fr., Woodridge, Ill./Naperville-North) in the 100 freestyle (50.31) and
Eric Primdahl (Jr., Kildeer, Ill./Arlington Heights-St. Viator) in the 200 freestyle (1:49.06).
“The meet was discouraging early on,” said Carthage coach Greg Earhart.  “I was happy with how our guys came back to race in the end, but when you give a good team an early lead, it's awfully tough to come back.
Tyler Smith, who took second in the 100 butterfly and third in the 100 breaststroke, swam despite being diagnosed with a torn labrum this week.  He really stepped into his own today.”  Carthage travels to Bloomington, Ill., on Saturday, Nov. 10 to face Illinois Wesleyan University in a 1 p.m. dual meet at the Fort Natatorium.
