The Carthage College men's tennis team (7-5, 1-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) lost to No. 2 Washington University (Mo., 10-3), 9-0, on Saturday, April 3 a the Tao Tennis Center in St. Louis, Mo. 

Carthage's Sammy Ramoni (Sr., Honiara, Solomon Islands, 17-4) lost to Washington's John Watts, 6-0, 6-1, at number-one singles, and Jack Schiro (Sr., Shorewood, Wis., 8-3) fell to Isaac Stein, 7-5, 6-3, at number-two singles. Jeffery Lotz Jr. (Fr., Racine, Wis./Horlick, 11-7) lost at number-three singles, as did J.T. Delk (Sr., Wheaton, Ill./North, 8-7) at number-four singles, Matt Whiteside (So., Sacramento, Calif., Natomas Pacific Pathways Prep, 9-6) at number-five singles and Alex McLean (So., Belleville, Ill./West, 7-6) at number-six singles. 

Carthage's number-one doubles team of Ramoni and Lotz (9-4) lost to Isaac Stein/Max Wood, 8-1. The Red Men's number-two team of Schiro and Andy Schwenke (Sr., Mukwonago, Wis., 4-4) fell to the Bears, as did Carthage's number-three doubles tandem of Delk and Whiteside, 6-4). The Red Men play host to CCIW-opponent Illinois Wesleyan University on Thursday, April 8 in a 4 p.m. match at the Smeds Tennis Center in Kenosha, Wis.
