The Carthage College women's water polo team (4-2) went 2-0 at the Sunday, March 7 Washington & Jefferson College Triangular in Washington, Pa., defeating Macalester College, 18-10 and Washington & Jefferson (3-3) by a 10-4 margin. Kimmy Genian (Jr., Gurnee, Ill./Highland Park) scored 10 goals against Macalester, seven in the second half. Genian, Patti Blatter (Prospect Heights, Ill./Wheeling) and Michelle Mulhall (Sr., Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) each had three goals in the Washington & Jefferson contest.
Carthage plays next on its spring trip to California. On Thursday, March 11, the Lady Reds play both California Lutheran University in a 2 p.m. game (all times PST) in Thousand Oaks, Calif., before traveling to Pasadena, Calif., to take on the California Institute of Technology at 6 p.m.
