The Carthage College men's tennis team (7-3, 1-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) swept a Saturday, March 20 double-dual meet at the Oshkosh YMCA Tennis Center in Oshkosh, Wis., winning over Wisconsin-Oshkosh (9-3) and CCIW-opponent Wheaton College (Ill., 2-5, 0-1 CCIW) by identical, 7-2 scores.

Carthage's Sammy Ramoni (Sr., Honiara, Solomon Islands, 14-2) won both of his number-one singles matches, winning over Wisconsin-Oshkosh's James Lewison, 6-3, 6-3, and defeating Wheaton's Taylor Johnson, 7-6, 6-3. Jack Schiro (Sr., Shorewood, Wis., 5-1) won both of his number-two singles matches, winning over the Titans' Nate Kilsdonk, 6-2, 6-2, and defeating the Thunder's Jordan Williams, 6-3, 6-2. Jeffery Lotz Jr. (Fr., Racine, Wis./Horlick, 9-4) won both of his number-three singles contests. J.T. Delk (Sr., Wheaton, Ill./North, 4-6) was winner at number-four singles over Wisconsin-Oshkosh but lost to Wheaton (Ill.). Chris Vargo (Fr., Elmhurst, Ill./York, 4-4) lost to the Titans at number-five singles, but Matt Whiteside (So., Sacramento, Calif., Natomas Pacific Pathways Prep, 6-4) won the same flight over the Thunder. Alex McLean (So., Belleville, Ill./West, 5-3) lost to UW-Oshkosh but won over Wheaton (Ill.) at number-six singles. 

Carthage's number-one doubles team of Ramoni and Lotz (6-2) won both of their matches, as did Schiro and Andy Schwenke (Sr., Mukwonago, Wis.) at number-two doubles. The Red Men's number-three tandem of Delk and Whiteside, 3-2) defeated Wisconsin-Oshkosh but lost to Wheaton (Ill.). Carthage travels to Crawfordsville, Ind., on Saturday-Sunday, March 27-28 to play in the Wabash College "Kerry Seward Invitational."
