Wiers Family Stadium and Barbara Madrigrano Field

Carthage College proudly presents the newly revamped Wiers Family Stadium and Barbara Madrigrano Field, a sporting gem nestled on the northwest corner of Carthage's picturesque campus along Sheridan Road. Steeped in history, the field serves as Carthage's first-ever on-campus field since its grand opening game against Millikin University on April 5, 1997.

The Carthage Softball Field has undergone a transformative journey to become a state-of-the-art facility that elevates the softball experience for student-athletes and spectators alike.

Left Dimension: 190 feet - On the left side, the Carthage Softball Field now boasts permanent fencing that enhances the game's integrity while providing a sense of enclosure for an engaging atmosphere.

Center Dimension: 210 feet - At the heart of the field, fans can now enjoy comfortable bleacher seating, providing ample room for 100 spectators to cheer and root for the Firebirds passionately. This improved seating area ensures an unobstructed view of the game's excitement from every angle.

Right Dimension: 190 feet - The right side of the field stands adorned with upgraded dugouts, ensuring student-athletes have a comfortable space to strategize, bond, and stay motivated throughout each game.

Synthetic Turf Transformation: The most significant enhancement to the Carthage Softball Field lies beneath the student-athletes' feet. Crews have replaced the natural grass with advanced synthetic turf, providing a consistent and reliable playing surface regardless of weather conditions. This upgrade enables the Firebirds to practice and play with unparalleled confidence, no matter the fluctuating elements.

Modern Practice Facilities: Committed to fostering player development, Carthage introduced state-of-the-art bullpens and batting cages within the facility. These top-tier practice areas empower student-athletes to refine their skills and achieve peak performance, preparing them for every challenge that comes their way.

Scoreboard Upgrade: In line with our dedication to elevating the gameday experience, a new and improved scoreboard graces the Carthage Softball Field, keeping fans and student-athletes informed about the game's progress in real-time.
