Tarble Arena

Tarble Arena, a versatile and dynamic space, is the epicenter for men's, women's basketball, men's and women's wrestling, men's, and women's volleyball games and practices. This state-of-the-art facility sets the stage for athletic prowess, fostering an unparalleled atmosphere of excitement and competition in NCAA Division III arenas.

The Tarble Arena boasts an array of cutting-edge features meticulously designed to elevate the sporting experience for athletes and fans alike:

  1. Parquet Floor: The arena's iconic parquet floor stands as a symbol of tradition and excellence, providing a distinct and timeless playing surface for athletes to showcase their skills.
  2. Arena Seating for 2,385 Fans: The vast arena seating, with all red seats and theatre-style chairs on the west side, can accommodate up to 2,385 enthusiastic fans, creating an electrifying ambiance that fuels the players' passion and motivates them to excel.
  3. Video Board and State-of-the-Art Sound & Lighting: Equipped with a video board and state-of-the-art sound and lighting equipment, Tarble Arena creates an immersive and engaging environment that adds unique excitement to every game, especially during pre-game introductions.
  4. Host of Championship Events: Over the years, Tarble Arena has been the proud host of numerous conference tournament games while also serving as the prestigious site for the men's volleyball NCAA Regional Championship in 2019, 2021, and 2022, as well as the NCAA Final Four in 2022.
  5. Versatile Facilities: Tarble Arena is not only a haven for sporting events but also features an exercise physiology/athletic training rehabilitation laboratory, classroom space, seven locker rooms, and coaches' offices. These versatile facilities contribute to the holistic development of athletes and ensure they have everything they need to thrive.

Tarble Arena Conference Center, Dale Golf Center, and Marconi Athletic Strength Training Center: The Tarble Arena Conference Center, Dale Golf Center, and Marconi Athletic Strength Training Center are impressive additions made possible by the generous support of visionary alumni Al Van Maren ('95) and Marianne Kidd, David Dale ('43) and Estelle Dale, and Richard Marconi ('56), respectively. These contributions reflect the dedication of our community to fostering excellence in sports and beyond.

Beyond the realm of collegiate sports, the Tarble Arena's renovation, adjacent to the N.E. Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center, has created a modern, multi-sport complex that extends its hospitality to regional high school games, performances by top musicians and comedians and various community events.

The Tarble family's longstanding support for Carthage since the 1970s has been pivotal in shaping the College's growth. With their unwavering generosity, the total Tarble family giving to Carthage now exceeds a remarkable $20 million, demonstrating their commitment to empowering generations of students and athletes.
