It takes an awfully good excuse to justify missing your own Hall of Fame induction. Kelly Bauer, '08, had a winner.

The former Carthage women's volleyball standout sent her parents to accept on her behalf at the Oct. 11 Athletic Hall of Fame ceremony. Ms. Bauer was a hemisphere away, in Chile, conducting doctoral research on a Fulbright scholarship.
