The Carthage College women's cross country team (15-4) finished third at the Saturday, Sept. 17 Concordia University (Wis.) “Falcon Invitational” in Mequon, Wis.

The host-Falcons won the 13-team event with 48 points, 19 points ahead of second-place Wisconsin-Stevens Point at 67. Carthage was third at 75, followed by Aurora University fourth at 109, Ripon College fifth at 140, Lake Forest College sixth at 176, Cardinal Stritch University seventh at 212, Maranatha Baptist Bible College eighth at 253, Mount Mary College ninth at 291, Dominican University (Ill.) 10th at 298, Silver Lake College 11th at 328, Prairie State College 12th at 347 and Alverno College 13th with 355 points.

Carthage's Katie Kummerer (So., Willowbrook, Ill./Hinsdale-Central) won the 6K race with a time of 23:07.60, and Morgan Wiechmann (Sr., Sleepy Hollow, Ill./Carpentersville—Dundee-Crown) finished fifth at 24:23.80. Bridget Driscoll (Jr., Tinley Park, Ill./Orland Hills-Andrew) was 17th at 25:40.20, Grace Heal (So., Sycamore, Ill.) 25th at 26:05.70, and Alexis Kingery (Fr., Aurora, Ill./Waubonsee Valley) finished 28th with a time of 26:27.90.

Also running for the Lady Reds were Jodie Waller (Jr., Pleasant Prairie, Wis./Somers-Shoreland Lutheran) 36th at 27:09.30, Samantha Godlewski (Fr., Racine, Wis./Lutheran) 40th art 27:50.50, Sofia Giorno (So., Elkhorn, Wis./Elkhorn Area) at 27:54.90, Kayla Arbet (Jr., Burlington, Wis./Salem-Westosha Central) at 28:12.30, Nikki Knieps (Sr., Tinley Park, Ill./Orland Hills-Andrew) at 28:43.60, Hailey Ongman (So., Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) at 29:44.50 and Ashley Mikkola (Fr., Sanford, Mich./Midland) at 30:19.90.

Carthage travels to Warrenville, Ill., on Saturday Sept. 24 to run in the Wheaton College (Ill.) Invitational at the St. James Farm Forest Preserve, beginning at 10 a.m.
