“We played well against a good basketball team,” said Carthage head coach
Bosko Djurickovic. “We're happy to get through the weekend with a couple of wins.
Donte Logan is a difficult player to guard, because of his lateral movement. We didn't have him until Dec. 1 because of a thumb injury, and we might have won a couple more game if we would have had him. The key now is to keep tweaking things with our role identification, and if we can do that, we have a chance to be a pretty good basketball team. We were killing
Malcom Kelly earlier this year by having him play the point and guarding the other team's best player. Now, we can let him concentrate of playing defense, which he excels at, and playing good, solid off-the-ball offense. We played three freshman a lot in this game, and they are the nucleus of something good down the line. We shot the ball 55 times, and that's good. Kids don't like playing slow-down basketball.”
Carthage travels to Milwaukee on Saturday, Dec. 17 to play a 3 p.m. game versus Cardinal Stritch University (9-2) at Stritch Gym.
