Carthage College guard Steve Djurickovic (Sr., Pleasant Prairie, Wis./Kenosha-Bradford) was named “Men's Basketball Player of the Week” on Jan. 10 for the third time this season and the 13th time in his career. With the award, Djurickovic broke a league-record of 12 awards set by Kent Raymond from Wheaton College (Ill.).

The Carthage guard, who also earned “player of the week” honors on Nov. 22 and Dec. 6, scored a game-high 27 points in the Red Men's 72-53 win over No. 18 Illinois Wesleyan University on Jan. 8. Djurickovic converted nine-of-19 field goals, including four-of-six from three-point range, along with a perfect five-of-five performance at the free throw line, six rebounds and five assists.  Earlier in the week, in a 62-55 loss to Wheaton College (Ill.) on Jan. 5, he was the lone Carthage player in double figures with 19 points on four-of-13 shooting, but was 10-of-14 at the free throw line and finished with five assists.

Against Illinois Wesleyan, Djurickovic passed North Central's Bill Warden and Illinois Wesleyan's Jack Sikma on the CCIW's all-time career scoring list. He is now fifth on the list with 2,274 points through Jan. 10.
