The Carthage College women's volleyball team (23-3, 6-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin), ranked ninth in the Oct. 20 American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll and third in the Oct. 21 NCAA Division III Midwest Regional poll, traveled to Tiffin, Ohio, for the Friday-Saturday, Oct. 23-24 Heidelberg College Quadrangular at the Seiberling Gymnasium. On Friday, Oct. 23, Carthage swept Webster University (14-10), 3-0, with winning set scores of 25-16, 25-18 and 25-15.
Right-side player Rachel Swoboda (Jr., De Pere, Wis./Wrightstown) had 10 kills and hit .435. Outside hitter Lauren Dembkowski (So., Mount Prospect, Ill./Arlington Heights-Hersey) had nine kills, and middle blocker Jordan Burkholder (So., Rockford, Ill./Christian Life) collected seven kills and hit. 600. Setter Drewann Pancratz (So., Schaumburg, Ill.) averaged 12.00 assists per set, while middle blocker Amanda Matusky (Sr., Hickory Hills, Ill./Palos Hills-Stagg) had five block assists. On Saturday, Oct. 24, the Lady Reds face No. 7 Wittenberg University (19-4) at 1 p.m., EDT, and No. 17 Heidelberg at 3 p.m., EDT.
