NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Carthage College's men's volleyball student-athletes,
Owen Otto and
Gene McNulty, have been named Hitter of the Week and Setter of the Week by the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW).
Owen Otto, hailing from Hartford, Wis., secures his inaugural CCIW accolade by leading the team with 30 kills. Across eight sets, Otto achieved an impressive 3.75 kills per set, boasting a hitting percentage of .456. Additionally, he contributed four aces to the team's success in their 2-0 victories against Dominican (Ill.) and Concordia (Wis.).
Gene McNulty, representing Oak Lawn, Ill., recorded 51 assists for Carthage last week. McNulty maintained an average of 5.67 assists per set and showcased defensive skills with 17 digs over nine sets, averaging 1.89 digs per set.
Looking ahead, the Firebirds kick off the week with a match against MSOE on Thursday, February 15, at 7 p.m.
