Carthage College Athletics

From Freeport, Ill., Tom Hartog lettered four times in swimming (1975-78). He was twice named honorable mention NCAA Division III All-American, finishing 11th in the 100-backstroke at both the 1977 and 1978 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. Hartog was awarded an NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship in 1978. He won CCIW swimming titles in both the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke events three straight years from 1975 to 1977, and he finished second in the 200-yard backstroke at the 1978 CCIW meet.
