From Pontiac, Mich., Ray Threlkeld lettered four times in football (1975-78) and three times in track and field (1977-79). In football, he was named an Associated Press honorable mention Little All-American defensive back in 1977 and first-team All-CCIW in both 1977 and 1978, the latter as wide receiver. In track and field, he won both the long jump and the triple jump at the 1977 CCIW Outdoor Track and Field Championship and finished fourth in the long jump at that year’s NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship. He went to become an attorney with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in Chicago and a trustee of Carthage College from 1993 to 2000.
