From Arlington Heights, Ill., Lloyd Meyer lettered three times in both basketball (1951-53) and baseball (1951-53). He went to become a legendary American Legion coach in his home town of Arlington Heights. His former players with Major League Baseball resumes include Dave Kingman, Paul Splittorff, George Vukovich, Tom Lumsted and Tim Bogar. Meyer’s 1965 team finished fifth in the American Legion World Series, and both his 1976 and 1993 squads took second place.
