From West Bend, Wis., Denise (DuKatz) Grudzielanek lettered four times each in basketball (1985-88) and softball (1985-88). In basketball, she was named American Women’s Sports Federation honorable mention All-America and honorable mention All-CCIW in 1987. She earned first-team All-CCIW honors in 1988. Grudzielanek’s 505 career assists stood as the Lady Reds’ all-time best until Colleen Mewes broke her record in 1997. Grudzielanek tied Carthage game record with 13 assists against Lakeland College on Feb. 8, 1986. In softball, she was named first-team all-conference in 1987. Grudzielanek received her bachelor’s in recreational management from Carthage in 1988 and went on to work for Mediserve in Oak Creek, Wis.
