From Elgin, Ill., Curt Whipple lettered four times in football (1969-72) and remains one of Carthage’s greatest running backs. He was named Associated Press Little All-America and NAIA All-America in 1971 and first-team All-CCIW in both 1970 and 1971. Whipple set a CCIW record in 1970 with 1,249 rushing yards in conference play. He went on to become a systems engineer for Hitachi Data Systems.
