From Kenosha, Wis., and Tremper High School, Becki Schmitz lettered four time in track and field (1999-2002) was a five-time NCAA All-American thrower. Schmitz won a national title in the 20-pound weight throw at the 2002 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championship and was named United States Track Coaches Association “Women’s Indoor Performer of the Year.” She also earned NCAA All-America honors with a third-place finish in the discus and a sixth-place finish in the hammer at the 2001 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship, a seventh-place finish in the discus at the 2000 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship and with an eighth-place showing in the hammer throw at the 1999 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship. Schmitz won nine a total of CCIW outdoor titles and two indoor championships.
