NEW ORLEANS, LA—The Carthage College men's and women's track & field squads pulled down academic accolades from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The Lady Reds, who accumulated a 3.369 cumulative grade point average, were among 183 NCAA Division III programs to earn 2017 USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors. To be eligible for USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, a program must finish highly at the respective national championship meet and hold a minimum 3.00 grade point average.

This marks Young's fourth trip on the USTFCCCA academic list while Slowek and Krueger made their third appearance on the honor roll. Rasmussen registered USTFCCCAÂ All-Academic Individual for the second time.

To be eligible for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field Team, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.3 and have met at least one of the following criteria:

-Competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship.
-Finished the regular season ranked in the national top 50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-35 (collective listing) in a relay event.
