2017 WOMEN'S SEASON BESTS
MEET INFORMATION
KENOSHA, WIS.—The 2017 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Cross Country Championship will be upon the Carthage College men's and women's cross country squads on Saturday, October 28. The St. James Farm Forest Preserve in Warrenville, Ill. will host the affair that begins with the men's 8K race at 12:00 p.m., followed by the women's 6K event at 12:45 p.m. The Lady Reds will penetrate their first CCIW title in school history. The men's 8K, and women's 6K open races will follow the championship races.
The Red Men notched third place at last season's CCIW Championship, their highest finish at the event since 1977. They will pursuit their first CCIW title since 1973.
Carthage will square-off against the following teams:

Illinois Wesleyan
Millikin
North Central (Ill.) (#1 M)
North Park
Wheaton (#5 W)
The women are coming off a UW-Oshkosh Kollege Town Invitational that resulted in 10 career-best times. Among those times was
Alanna Varnas' 23:59.71, which propelled the Lady Reds to ninth place out of 24 teams. The men pulled down 6
th place out of 26 teams, thanks to
Suneed Ahmed's 25
th-place time of 26:27.9.
WHAT'S NEXT
The cross country teams will participate in the 2017 NCAA Division III Cross Country Midwest Regional at the Saukie Municipal Golf Course in Rock Island, Ill. on Saturday, November 11. Festivities will begin at 11:00 a.m. A top-two finish will secure Carthage a spot in the 2017 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship at the North Farm Cross Country Course in Elsah, Ill. Otherwise, both teams will hope to land one of the 16 at-large bids. The top-seven individuals from each region not on a qualifying team will land a spot at nationals.
