Lady Reds Clocked-In Ninth Place at UW-Oshkosh Kollege Town Sports Invitational

FINAL RESULTS
 
OSHKOSH, WIS.—The Carthage College women's cross country team received a career-best time from their lead runner for the second-consecutive week at the UW-Oshkosh Kollege Town Sports Invitational at the Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Wis. on Saturday. Lady Reds senior Alanna Varnas shaved two seconds off last week's time with a 23:59.71, which entrenched her in 25th place out of 353 individuals. Varnas's performance propelled Carthage to ninth place out of 24 teams with 259 points.
 
St. Norbert College's 93 points landed them the Kollege Town Sports Invitational Team Championship, while UW-Oshkosh's Cheyenne Moore took home the individual crown with a 22:10.29.
 
Molly McQueeny clocked-in a season-best 24:27.16, a 0:40-improvement from last week's Benedictine Eagle Invitational. McQueeny's time put her in 34th place overall. Maddy Schwartz continued the season-best trend with a 24:53.51, good enough for 73rd place. Carly Egan tacked on a season-best 25:06.16 while Elena Kelsh was on her tracks with a 25:15.06.
 
Marisa Monbrod was on Kelsh's heels with a career-best 25:16.68 while Kate Wille's 25:36.88 rounded out the Lady Reds top-seven finishers.
 
Amanda Goecke (25:38.69), Brianna Kloster (25:40.18), Emily Lilly (25:51.25), Lexie Mallary (25:54.26), Kathryn McKinnon (26:01.28), Laura Sanders (26:02.16), Adriana Santana (26:29.85), Johnelle Miner (26:32.30), Emily Walden (26:32.50), Tyra Wooster (27:01.23), Tessa McKenna (27:02.77), Erika Gordon (27:06.70), Indi Conover (27:22.46), Jenn Campbell (27:59.18), Kate Janes (28:32.20), Jillian Schirmacher (28:44.10), Dulce Zarinana (30:04.19), Riley Geoghegan (30:14.01) and Bonnie Perrino (30:20.70) also represented Carthage at the Kollege Town Sports Invitational on Saturday.
 
The Lady Reds will embark on a week hiatus before they compete in the 2017 CCIW Cross Country Championship on Saturday, October 28 at the St. James Farm Forest Preserve in Warrenville, Ill. Runners will straddle the start line at 12:00 p.m.
