The Carthage College women's water polo team (0-0, 0-0 Collegiate Water Polo Association) went 1-2 at the Saturday, Feb. 28 University of Notre Dame Club Tournament at the Rolfs Aquatic Center in South Bend, Ind. Carthage defeated the Miami University club team, 12-5, before losing to the Grand Valley State University club team, 12-3, and then falling to the Notre Dame club squad by a 10-6 margin.
In the win over Miami (Ohio), Carthage's
Kelly Baumgartner (Sr., Orland Hills, Ill./Tinley Park-Andrew) scored four goals, while
Brittany Wallace (Jr., Niles, Ill./Wilmette-Loyola Academy) had three goals and two assists.
Ashley McGhee (Sr., Chicago, Ill./Lane Tech), splitting time in goal with
Anna Shirer (So., Homewood, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor), collected six saves. McGhee had four saves in the loss to Grand Valley. In the Notre Dame contest, McGhee collected 11 saves.
