Carthage College men's cross country runner Michael Von Borstel (Sr., Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) and women's volleyball setter Karen Chin (Jr., Mundelein, Ill.) have been named fall 2014 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin/Jack Swartz all-academic.
 
Von Borstel earned first-team All-CCIW honors with a 10th-place finish at the CCIW Men's Cross Country Championship.  He is an athletic training major with a 3.51 cumulative grade-point average.
 
Chin was named American Volleyball Coaches Association second-team All-America, as well as first-team All-CCIW for the second-straight year and CCIW "Co-Women's Volleyball Player of the Year."  A graphic design major with a 3.57 cumulative GPA, Chin has been named to the Carthage dean's list on three occasions.
